Data Format Content Type

Provides information about a File Format, including Title, Icon, File Extension, MIME Type and how to identify the format from file data.

Fields

• Title - The formal name of this data format (ie. Adobe Reader Portable Document Format).
• Short Name - A short name typically used by someone familiar with the format to refer to this data format (ie. PDF).
• Extension - The most common filename extension for files of the data format (ie. pdf).
• Media Type - The MIME-Type that this data format is identified with.  See this complete list as a reference..
• Web Friendly - TRUE if the file type can be displayed natively in most modern web browsers.  For example, HTML, JavaScript and certain image files.
• Text - TRUE if the file type only contains plain text, which can be displayed without additional processing.
• Icon - A square icon to represent files in this data format.
