Binary

Binary data is not efficiently stored in XML or JSON files, so external binary files are referenced from XML and JSON to store binary data. Any binary data or binary file format may be used. Files are referenced with the file attribute in XML or within an object in JSON, where the type equals "url" and the value is a relative or fully qualified file URL.
